Server Security and FIREWALL Settings

Generally, the security measures you currently use should work with TrueGUI. We have tried very hard to keep existing security measures and not expose any new security issues.

The TrueGui configuration file is not included in updates at this time. The file is encrypted using a TripleDes encryption algorithm that is compliant with HIPA standards. But as it contains the host and update parameters it should be distributed separately. If you are interested in a version of TrueGui.exe that performs this function contact us and we can provide this on a custom basis.

TrueGui should work thru VPN client connections provided that you allow the ports necessary thru that connection. We do not at this time provide SSH, but if you have the client base we will consider adding the feature.

TrueGui has the capability to transfer files to the client via FTP process. The write privileges of the current user on the client pc are also that of TrueGui to the client as the FTP process runs thru the client. Files in-use by an application will have the same locking mechanism as the windows system.
